Staying at Cley Windmill has to be one of life's unique experiences, combining character, warmth and comfort.

The ground floor includes a magnificent circular sitting room where antique furniture and inviting sofas nestle comfortably around a roaring open fire. The beamed dining room, part of the original warehouse built in 1713, has a warm and friendly atmosphere in which to dine. The upstairs rooms and galleries have stunning views over the marshes and the sea.

Self Catering

The original stables have been converted into a well appointed self catering holiday cottage. This is a comfortable retreat retaining many original features and is available (normally on a weekly basis) throughout the year. It can also be let as a bedroom annex, from which guests can enjoy the normal guest house facilities of the windmill, including our fantastic dining facilities

Our self catering guests are most welcome to book in for dinner; likewise, if there is room, breakfast may also be booked. The price of dinner is currently £27.50. Breakfast is £9.50 per person.

Dining at Cley Windmill...

* Our two chefs, Emma and John, are making quite a name for themselves all over North Norfolk for their cooking. We cook nearly every evening and it is a very convivial affair. Our cooking is predominately old-fashioned home-made English country.
* Guests dine by candlelight and we are open to non-residents as well

We now offer the opportunity to hire the entire windmill for exclusive days or weeks at a time. This is a unique and memorable way to entertain your friends and family. The windmill can sleep up to 20 in 9 rooms on a B&B basis. Evening meals and lunches are also available.
