Located in the pretty village of Thornham it,is the sister hotel of The Lifeboat Inn which is just a short 5 minute walk away on route to the village harbour with fabulous views and the delightful walk along the coastal path to the beach.

The Old Coach House has a lovely warm ambience, a country pub with a Mediterranean style. It offers 2 bar areas with tables and sofas, a lounge and a Pizza Pie restaurant.

Outside the front patio has garden furniture and is a delightful south facing sun trap where you can sit and enjoy watching the world go by. The patio area to the rear has a smoking area with garden furniture, patio heaters and table umbrellas. There is also a children's play area and a large car park.

The accommodation at The Old Coach house offers 12 en suite rooms which include a family room and a Studio Room.

Amenities include complimentary wireless Internet throughout the establishment.

It has a lovely friendly and informal atmosphere and is especially popular with children and families.


We cater for everyone and have recently extended our menu with the introduction of scrumptious home made pies, as well as our traditional pizzas and more tasty pasta dishes. Of course all of this is complemented by our new wine list.

The restaurant and bar are wonderfully decorated using a variety of interesting colours and finishes, creating a refreshing style and cosy atmosphere.

Our restaurant is open all year. In the summer, sip a glass of wine or Pimms outside before you eat. In the winter, the restaurant has a cosy atmosphere for that romantic meal or family get-together, and at any time of year you can take away our restaurant food to eat elsewhere. Try our house specialties – a pizza cooked in our own pizza oven, piles of freshly made pasta and delicious homemade pies.. but leave room for desert!

The surrounding area offers a multitude of interesting places to see and activities to enjoy. Holkham Hall, Sandringham House or Nelson's birthplace at nearby Burnham Thorpe are just a few of the many historic locations nearby drive down the coast will take you to many little fishing villages with picturesque quaysides - not to mention all sorts of little shops, galleries and surprises.

Golfers can test their ability on one of the country's top Championship Links at Hunstanton. There is also the equally challenging Royal West Norfolk course at Brancaster only 5 minutes drive from the Inn. Should you want to make a week of it, there are fine courses within easy reach at Sheringham, King's Lynn and Cromer.

Bird watchers, walkers and nature lovers are spoilt for choice. A walk from our front door will take you to Thornham beach in no time at all. Holme Nature Reserve is 2 miles away and Snettisham, Blakeney, Holkham and Cley Nature Reserve are all within a short driving distance.

There are numerous and varied walks along miles of open beaches, across sweeping sand dunes, through pine woods or along chalk and sandstone cliff tops. It is truly a walker's paradise - especially if you're a dog!

For more nautical guests there is also (ask the golfers) a fair breeze and Brancaster Staithe has all the facilities for sailing. Hunstanton is now one of the busiest windsurfing centres in Britain. From the cliffs it is rare, come rain or shine, not to see windsurfers whizzing along 'on the crest of the wave'
