About The Bull Inn in Walsingham
A unique historic building in the heart of Little Walsingham near Holt offering comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation. Perfect for exploring the Walsingham Shrine and the beautiful countryside and coast of North Norfolk.
Our unspoiled pub is quirky and unique, frequented by locals, pilgrims, tourists and business people. Tables are provided in every area of the old Inn, enabling people to sit, relax and enjoy the atmosphere of a traditional old English tavern.
A courtyard to the rear of the Inn provides comfortable seating in sheltered surroundings with the additional provision of heaters for the colder days.
The Shrine of our lady of Walsingham was established in 1061, when according to tradition Richeldis de Faverches prayed that she might undertake special work in honour of our lady. In answer to her prayer the Virgin Mary lead her spirit to Nazareth, showed her the house where the annunciation occurred and asked her to build a replica in Walsingham to serve as a perpetual memorial of the annunciation.
