Life in Fakenham focuses on the pretty market square and War Memorial with of this North Norfolk town. Much of the history of Fakenham is tied to it's agricultural past. the Market charter was granted to Fakenham in 1250 by Henry VII.

Now Fakenham is known nationally for it's National Hunt Racecourse which draws visitors from all over the U.K. Horse racing normally happens two weekends a month from October to May, when you contact the Hotels for reservations they will be able to advise you which dates have meetings.

You will find great local pubs bar and restaurants not just in the town but in the surrounding villages also. The Pensthorpe nature reserve is a short drive. Village with great names like Pudding Norton are a short drive away. Market days in Fakenham offer shopping opportunities with lots of local produce on offer.

The main market is on every Thursday and the Farmers market is normally the fourth Saturday of each month.
