About Apricot Cottage
Apricot Cottage is a beautifully presented spacious Grade II listed property. It has been stylishly refurbished resulting in a cool, contemporary holiday home for 6 — 8 people. 10 — 12 can be accommodated in conjunction with the adjacent property, the Old Hardware (www.theoldhardware.co.uk).
This is a perfect place to stay in the heart of the working village of Docking, close to Burnham Market and within a 10 minute drive of the beautiful North Norfolk coast, with its miles of wide sandy beaches.
This uniquely designed house is a super place for families with a fabulous kitchen and living and dining rooms both with wood burner stoves.
There is another large downstairs room which can be used as 2nd living room or made up as a 4th bedroom. Upstairs is a gorgeous master bedroom — a lovely high-ceiling room with many original features and some quirky new interventions.
Two other bedrooms are available, one double and one with twin beds. A welcome pack with locally sourced products is provided upon arrival.
Living Room: Beautifully presented room with one wall formed in glass French doors which open to the courtyard There is a ‘L’ shaped comfortable sofa and flat screen Smart TV with Netflix. Wifi is also available. A built in wall wood burner completes the room.
Dining Room: The dining room is dominated by a dramatic high ceiling with skylights which bring light down into the house. A dining table with benches sits 6 — 8 and the wood burner keeps the room snug and cosy on cold winter nights.
2nd Living Room/4th Bedroom: This large downstairs room can also be used as a 4th bedroom with very comfortable sofa bed. Its downstairs location and proximity to the downstairs bathroom makes it ideal for elderly guests. Once part of stable building this large quirky room comes equipped with a 27 inch Imac for streaming movies from Netfix or Lovefilm. Located at one end of the house, it is ideal for parents/grandparents to hideaway for a couple of hours from children or vice versa!
There is space for one vehicle parked off road and it is usually possible to park outside on the High Street. There is a pedestrian entrance at the front off the High Street but also direct vehicular and pedestrian access from Mill Lane. The courtyard garden is ideal for BBQ’s or sitting out in the afternoon sun.
In the garden guests can help themselves to a wide variety of fruit and vegetables. At night the garden is beautifully lit and in good weather wide French doors open up the living room to the courtyard
