About Seal Trips with Bishop's Boats
Enjoy a trip with Bishop's Boats to see the seals and wildlife on Blakeney Point. departing from Blakeney or Morston Quay with some seal trips offering the chance to land on Blakeney Point it really is the best way to see the seals in their natural habitat.
We guarantee you will see the Seals*
Blakeney National Nature Reserve features wide open spaces and uninterrupted views of the beautiful North Norfolk coastline. Blakeney Point offers protection for the Harbour and surrounding saltmarshes, this provides a perfect habitat for the fantastic array of wildlife. We are sure our seal trip will leave you with fsome treasured memories.
Advance booking by telephone for all seal trips is recommended to avoid disappointment, we can also provide full details about the trip. Tickets must be collected from Blakeney Quay no later than 30 minutes before sailing time. Well behaved dogs are welcome (at our discretion).
Our boats wind their way down the creek before heading out into sheltered waters and onto the far end of Blakeney Point. Without going out into the open sea, our experienced skipper’s take you to known areas frequented by seals. However, we ask that you appreciate that we do not control, or attempt to influence their natural behaviour or habitat in order to see them.. You may observe both common and grey seals from the boats, which are able to get close to the basking seals near the water’s edge. Our friendly crew will tell you all about the seals and the area. There are many species of birds to be seen too, including a large tern colony well established on Blakeney Point.
For passenger comfort Bishop’s Boats operate a non-smoking policy on-board.
All trips are seal-watching trips lasting approximately 1hr but on some seal trips when tides and conditions allow, we also stop on Blakeney Point Nature Reserve, if you wish, adding ½ – 1 hour to the trip time. (Please note: you cannot see the seals when you land on Blakeney Point). The best vantage point for the seal and tern colony is from the boats, as we are able to get quite close to the shore without causing any disturbance to the wildlife.
Departure, duration and return times may vary as they are very dependent on tidal and weather conditions, location of seals and passenger promptness!
*Bishop’s Boats Guarantee – In the very unlikely event that you do not see any seals, we will offer a free seal trip another day, or give you a 50% refund.
We look forward to welcoming you aboard.
