Close to the Visitor Centre car parks are the adventure play area and the sculpture trail.
The play area has more than 30 pieces of equipment, including slides, swings, a rope bridge, a "wobble board" and climbing wall. The sculpture trail is a walk through the Arboretum passing sculptures, all made by chainsaw carvers from natural tree trunks. At present there are 15 sculptures, but more are added each year.
Both the play area and the sculpture trail are free of charge, as are the Visitor Centre car parks, and are open every day of the year.
Set in the woodland of the Country Park, the Visitor Centre was developed to provide excellent facilities for visitors all year round, with timber buildings designed to blend into the landscape, but air-conditioned and offering every comfort inside.
There is free car and coach parking, and this is where you will find the
Restaurant, Gift Shop and Plant Centre, plus "Everything Outdoor", specialising in country clothing and accessories.
The Visitor Centre is open every day, the Restaurant and Gift Shop from 9.30am to 5.30pm, the Plant Centre from 11am to 5.30pm and "Everything Outdoor" from 10.00am to 5.00pm.
Sandringham is a friendly and informal place to visit, with knowledgeable guides in every room of the house and acres of beautiful gardens to explore while the Museum houses extraordinary collections of Royal vehicles, rare ceramics, photographs and memorabilia.
