About Sandringham Estate

Set in the woodland of the Country Park, the Visitor Centre was developed to provide excellent facilities for visitors all year round, with timber buildings designed to blend into the landscape, but air-conditioned and offering every comfort inside.

There is free car and coach parking, and this is where you will find the
Restaurant, Gift Shop and Plant Centre, plus "Everything Outdoor", specialising in country clothing and accessories.

The Visitor Centre is open every day, the Restaurant and Gift Shop from 9.30am to 5.30pm, the Plant Centre from 11am to 5.30pm and "Everything Outdoor" from 10.00am to 5.00pm.

Sandringham is a friendly and informal place to visit, with knowledgeable guides in every room of the house and acres of beautiful gardens to explore while the Museum houses extraordinary collections of Royal vehicles, rare ceramics, photographs and memorabilia.

The annual exhibition in the Ballroom of Sandringham House for the 2014 season is "Edward Seago at Sandringham", a selection of works by the celebrated Norfolk-born landscape painter. Several members of the Royal Family have collected paintings by Seago, and some of these, together with some previously unseen sketches, are on display.

The exhibiition includes landscapes painted during the 1956-57 voyage in the Royal Yacht Britannia, when Seago was invited to accompany HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, as well as paintings with a distinct Norfolk theme and views of Sandringham - Seago was a frequent guest of HM The Queen Mother at Sandringham over many years.

The Ballroom exhibition is open when Sandringham House is open, and entry is included in the admission fee to the House.

There is plenty to see and do around the estate as well - you'll need at least four hours to be sure you can see everything, and if you have a whole day to spend, all the better. Don't miss the parish church of St Mary Magdalene with its hosts of carved and painted angels and its many Royal memorials; the tractor and trailer tour of the Country Park saves tired legs
